I have noticed a really long delay in Windows Vista to play any media file. The media files are local, not on a CD. When I double click on any media file (for eg. mp3), it takes like 10 seconds to start! Has anyone else experienced this?
Its not a vistra bug as I have this on XP too (1gb ram, pentium 4 3ghz) - i think its because i have a large media libary?
I know it's not the system, coz I have 2 Gs of RAM, and a pretty fast proc. I don't have a large library though. So, it really beats me as to why the delay. So, this might be a Vista related issue.
I have the same problem too. My libary is kind of big(48 Gb). But i am also using the Urge service. I think what the new music player does is search for permissions( copyrights ), their for it takes a little long to load..... i think.
I am having the same issue in vista with Windows Media Player. It takes at least 7-8 seconds to play a song after I click on it. This is very frustrating on a brand new system w/ 2 gigs ram. Please help!!!
i ran across this problem a few weeks ago, its easy, what you do is go to the speaker/headphones properties, then under enhancements, click on the disable all enhancements, and it should be working fine, im not sure if its the same in xp but vista, i know this will fix it
