first, go into your browser's internet options and ensure that "automatically detect proxy settings" is enabled

if that doesnt fix the problem:

go to the control panel, go to network connections, right click your local area connection, go to properties, select internet protocol (TCP/IP), click properties, make sure that "Obtain......automatically" is selected for both the IP address and the DNS settings. Once(if) they are, go to the command prompt and type:

ipconfig /release

{now wait for this command to finish, then type:

ipconfig /renew

the screen should now display your new IP settings, let us know if this worked, otherwise we have some more trouble shooting to do
