can't talk to internet

Please help, I've got a new Vista machine and it's connected to my router but I can't talk to the internet. It was working yesterday.

It's a Gateway M-series notebook

There should be a switch on the front left of the computer body...labelled wireless on/off. This switch is very inconvenient if you are carrying the unit around - make sure it's not switched off.
