Accessing the LAN

im having trouble with the laptop i have, i have recently installed a new operating system and i cannot connect to the wireless network/lan, i have viewed the network connections and the only one there is the 1394 connection, whilst the other pc and laptop have the 1394 connection aswell as the local are connection, and when i click connect to; the wireless connection, that being tiscali using a siemens router doesnt show - any suggestions as the network is already set up

which operating do you have? which did you have?

Is 1394 the name of your home network?
Do you know if the drivers are installed for your wireless card?

do you have a LAN and a wifi card in there? sounds like you either don't, or the drivers aren't installed

1394 is the firewire port. 1394 is the controlling chipset for it.

What you probably need to do is look up the make and model of your laptop and download and install all the drivers for it.
