Wireless connection problem with encryption.

Expand Post »
Hi,

I am experiencing a problem when trying to make a wireless network connection when the networks WEP encryption is on. I am using a PCMCIA wireless adapter on an HP notebook running XP SP2. The connection displays that it 'acquiring network address' and that it is not connected every few seconds.

Everything works ok when the network encryption is off.

Re: Wireless connection problem with encryption.

try the different encryption key methods. There's open and shared key, and they need to match.

Re: Wireless connection problem with encryption.

It turns out to have been the configuration software.

After much searching, I found a newer version and it worked.

Thanks.
