network configuration in suse linux enterprises 10

I am unable to configure B S N L broad band in suse linux enterprises 10 without YaST. After configuration shal i have to save it. I want the configuration, step by step.
What I did is
Connection: eth0
I made the Enable connection with tick mark.
Address 192.168.1.2 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Router: 192.168.1.1
DNS Server 10.1.8.200
It is configured .But still I am not able to browse

How are getting the route to the DNS server: 10.1.8.200? That is on a different network than you put your server. So you will either have to add a static route or put the server in the same LAN segment. Why did you decide to put the server in the 192.168.x.x range when the DNS server is on the internal range of 10.x.x.x? Let me know and maybe we can figure it out.
