USB Issues

Expand Post »
Hey,

I just bought a new PC, and was going to pop the HD in as a slave to my old one to tansfer some files, but the connectors on each of them are different so that plan became a no-go.

I have a USB cable with a few different attachments and figured maybe I could go that route?

I'm not trying for anything long term, I just want the PCs to recognize each other long enough to transfer some data. I have a Eternet and phone jack for my USB cable.

Any help with this would be great.

Re: USB Issues

Not exactly sure what you're asking and what USB has to do with this. Unless its an external harddrive, hard drives are hooked up to your computer by using an IDE ribbon cable(as long as its not scsi). This has been the standard for quite some time.

Where does the USB come into play?
