The purpose is to UPSELL during the Check out process - but you can by the domains 5 years for $10 or 1 year for 2$

You also get a free customizable starter page - you can do limited design
entire process from start to finish - 3 minutes

But yes you can buy a domain and use the control panel to add it to what ever DNS or IP address you chose
