Keep losing my internet connection. Please help me.

Expand Post »
I have a D-link DI 514 router that is connected to my pc and wirelessly to my laptop. My problem is that I keep losing my internet connection on my laptop. When I check my signal strength it says 11 mbps/ Very Good.

I know it is not the dsl modem because my pc is working just fine.

I do not know what is going on, the only think I can think of is that I may need to add an access point. (If so any advice on which one to get?) Any advice/ recomendation would be appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Keep losing my internet connection. Please help me.

One thing I have noticed is that when I change my Mtu setting from 1492 down to 1452 everything seems to work ok. By the way I am using a dsl connection and my op system is xp.

If everything works fine when you drop the MTU down, keep it set that way.
