Problem with DSL and Router

Expand Post »
I have been having a problem with my internet connection since I have been running it through my router. I have a small home network and can't seem to get a stable connection to my computers for more than a week before something gets out of wack and I am unable to connect through my router.

I have set my router up to obtain IP address automatically as well as tried with the PPOE info entered and I can get it to work for a while then bam it crashes and I have to plug my modem up directly to my computer for a day or so and then run it back through the router for it to work again. My other computer is unable to connect to the internet at all even when the router is working but that is another problem all together. I just want to be able to stop plugging in wires here then moving them there and back again. Anybody have a clue what might be causing this? BTW- I have a linksys wireless-b router (though I'm not using it wirelessly), I connect through SBC Yahoo DSL, and I am running XP on both machines. Any suggestions are appreciated.
