e-mail issue with NIS2005

Expand Post »
Have had NIS2005 for about 7 months. Just developed a problem with the firewall preventing e-mail inbound and outbound. When I turn off the firewall the e-mail works fine. Any ideas on where to look for a solution? I've been all over the Symantec site to no avail.

I despise NIS. In the firewall section you want to allow tcp 25 out and tcp 110 in most likely. Your mail provider should be able to tell you what ports you need. Sorry - I don't know the screens exactly to tell you where to plug in the rules.
