Fax server that can send via SIP

Expand Post »
I have been posed with an interesting question. My CEO came to me, after dealing with MyFax and eFax, and asked if it would be possible for use to set up our own fax server.

My answer was, no problem. I can set up a HylaFAX server and we can bring in a bunch of phone lines.

The thing is, we don't want to bring in a bunch of phone lines. I would like to send them through an already established SIP server. Has anyone ever heard of something like this? Can it be done?

I couldn't answer the question so I figured I would bring it up to the board and see if anything fell out.
