I have a Sony Vaio Desktop with Sony 15" LCD Monitor running Windows ME. I have had the computer for about 3 years and it has worked flawlessly until now. I turn on the computer and everything loads normally and the icons appear on the screen as they should. After about 5 minutes whether I am on the internet or just using a software program, the screen starts to fade slowly to gray and after about 15 - 20 seconds the screen is completely gray without anything on the screen. The mouse cursor no longer appears. Pressing Control, Alt and Delete does not bring up anything on the screen.

I have to press the reset button to restart the comuter and the same problem occurs. What is my problem and how do I solve. HELP.

Have you tried the monitor on another system, just to eliminate that as the source of the problem?

If you have, it's possible your video card's going south on you.
