Older Vaio Needs Video Card for New Monitor please

Expand Post »
I have a Sony Vaio desktop bought in 2001 - PCV-RX741. I just bought a new Viewsonic monitor that can do 1680x1050 pixels, but this isn't supported by original video card, so web page viewing is way too small - Does anyone know what video card I should be looking for as an upgrade that will fit in my machine? I've heard "PCI" and "AGP" - greek to me.....is there hope? Thanks very much!
