compaq notebook 2100 weird display

Expand Post »
Hi
I have 2 years old compaq pressario 2100 series notebook (2134AD).
It worked fine until now. But recently the lcd is displaying
the black color in red. when the system is switched on
the whole screen appears in Red.
in windows XP , the command prompt by default appears in
red. The windows taskbar(in default XP blue theme) displays
pink lines (may in place of gray).

I checked with compaq service, they say that the lcd is gone and needs
to be replaced which will cost around 300 USD.

Pls let me know whether this is due to loss of lcd or due to any other
problem.

Re: compaq notebook weird display

Hi , I have found out the problem.
If tap on the area above te F10 key it is displaying properly.

Pls let me know if this is due to loose cable and can be fixed.
As the comapq guy says the cable is integrated to te display panel and not available.

pls assist me.
