CRT screen completely black, HP P1110 chasis

Expand Post »
Just got a NOKIA 445pro (HP P1110 chasis), which hadnt been used for 6 months.

When the power and VGA cables were connected, the monitor wont turn on. The scree is completely black and the green power light is flashing fast.

The monitor doesnt response any buttion either. Anyone has some idea what is wrong with it? Could it be a power supply circuitry?

thanks

Re: CRT screen completely black, HP P1110 chasis

ynwia,

Turn the monitor on without plugging it into the computer. Do you see anything? Most, if not all, monitors have some type of information box that is displayed telling the user to check the signal cable. Does anything like this appear? If so, the problem is either your cable or video card. Otherwise your monitor is busted and probably not worth fixing, especially if it's > 5 yrs. Ave. life of the tube is ~8-10 yrs.
