monitor keeps flickering and whiting out

hi. ive got a problem with my monitor. i have an n110 netbook and for some reason the screen keeps flickering with multi colours and then fades to white and back. i have run antivirus programmes and have tried diagnostic testing but im not that computer savvy. could this be caused by program incompatibility? can anyone tell me what the problem could be? im disabled and the computer is my lifeline to the outside world so any help is greatly appreciated and the faster the better. i would get remote assistance but i dont know anyone who could help

hi, its not likely a program incompatibility or a virus ,i had one that flickered and it was a wire connecting the computers video device to the lcd . it could be a video device driver ,you could try updating the video drivers.

what version of windows are you using on it
