old graphic card - thin text

Expand Post »
I've took my old celeron 300 with a nvidia riva TNT 2 graphic card and attached a new 15" BenQ LCD monitor to it, for my mom needed a PC to work with word on.
But my mom complains that the text is too thin, i've checked it with my laptop - and really, fonts on laptop are about 2 px width, and on celeron they are about 1 px width. i've even installed win XP and word 2003, still same shit. checked the monitor by attaching it to laptop - monitor is alright, shows 2 px letters. updated card drivers on celeron - still same. enchancing the fonts size on desktop settings increase overall size of letters, not their thickness.
Plz can someone tell me if it can be fixed, or if my graphic card is just too old?
Thx

Re: old graphic card - thin text

Double check ALL your display settings one more time. Also check the software she is using... where it says "Format" in the top task bar.
