RE: AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core 5200+ (2.7 GHz, 512 K x2 cache)

Hi Fellow Daniweb IT members,

I am currently thinking to buy the Dell inspiron 546 MT with the AMD Athlon 64 X2 dual-core 5200+ (2.7 GHz and 512Kx2 cache), and the 64-bit Windows Vista Home Premium, 6144MB Ram, 640GB Hard drive and a 512MB ATI Radeon HD 4350 graphics card.

I mainly need will use it to make web graphics designs and videos for AS-level I.C.T and for homework for my school work.

Can you tell me if this Motherboard is fast/slow or non-responsive etc.

Thanks in advance

yeah - I'd have advised you that 2nd Level cache of 6MB is about right for Vista x64.

I would always go for the Intel processor range. I trust it better since AMD is the catch-uop company that sees Intel as the big bad guy.
