Ribbon Question

Hi everyone. Ok I have a simple question....... sorry I don't know if I posted it in the right forum or not. Anyways, I have a Dell Dimension XPS Gen 4 and need a ribbon cable for my cd/dvd disk drives. I am unsure whether I need a "68Pin" ribbon cable or a "50Pin" ribbon cable. How can I tell? THANKS!

Just go to the store and say you need an IDE cable.

You can use the newer (More conductor) cable for an older device without a problem. You can still use the newer ribbon in the future when you get a device that supports it.
