open the case and look on the board for a name or go here and download a nd install aida32 http://www.aida32.hu/aida32-download.php
go to the motherboard section it should list what it is .

If you are running Windows, AIDA32 will identify the motherboard brand & model, BIOS version, processor speed, and more. Unfortunately, development has recently ceased on this product.

There are alternatives, though. One recommended by the AIDA32 team is EVEREST Home Edition. Another well-known one is SiSoft Sandra. Either of these will provide a great deal of system information.

how do i figure out who made this mobo/what it is? it is a socket 423 with a covered north bridge and a VIA VT8233 southbridge. there are no markings , brands etc.?? any ideas?? thank you prynas

i failed to mention that i have no chip so i can't look at the post( don't know if it's worth buying a chip for) it does have phoenix bios , 3 ddr slots , onboard audio(realtek) SST/MPF Tt (is that a high point controller? that's all i know any info greatly appreciated prynas)

Any other numbers anywhere? There should be some type of identifier/manufacturer markings screened on the board somewhere.
