INTEL: Virtualization for Desktop PCs

launched two Pentium 4 chips built with a technology that allows computers to run several operating systems and improve their multitasking abilities.

The company is touting the Pentium 4 as the first desktop processors with so-called “virtualization� technology. The technology, which creates several virtual environments, enables a computer to run several operating systems and programs without them interfering with one another.
