sys keeps shutting down think its ram

Hi everyone, I have a new build p4 3.0, 1gb ram 2 sticks 512 each kingston value ram. Here's the problem it keeps shutting down I have win xp home. When I start up it will start to boot then shut down so I turn it back on and it will boot a little further and shut down.After 3 trys it will load windows and then blue screen give me an error dump phy memory then restart and will work for 10 min and blue screen again.Do you think its my ram and if so is there a way to run a test on it.
Any help would be great. Thanks

It could be a bad xp installtion, try using the repair disk and see if it helps.
