Single 512mb sdram stick possible?

I have a NetVista with a 700Mhz CPU and a 64mb ram stick. According to the manual, it supports DIMM (3.3 V, synchronous, 168-pin, 133 MHz SDRAM) combos of 64 MB, 128 MB, and 256 MB unbuffered nonparity for a maximum of 512 MB. There are only 3 RAM slots so if I buy a SDRAM PC133 512 MB single stick, would that work or will it only support memory in combos up to 256 MB each?

P.S.
Will a 700Mhz CPU and 256-512 MB Ram suffice to run Windows 2000 (I think it'd run better than XP).

Single 512MB memory modules didn't exist when mobos of that vintage were released. :eek:

I would stick (no pun intended) with what the manual specifies. Win 2K will actually run pretty well on the machine if you populate it with two 256MB modules.
