No speaker or power led on mboard

Expand Post »
I just bought a new MSI KN NEO4 mboard.
It does not have a jp2 for the speaker and power led.
It has jp1 for the other leds.
I checked the manual and there is supposed to be a jp2.
I looked closley and there are small solder dots where jp2 is supposed to be, and even have the spkr writing on the noard. It looks like they were intentionally left out.
Anybody hear of anything like this?
The board works fine otherwise. I don't need the porer led as the case has lights, but I will not get the beep codes if there were something wrong.

Re: No speaker or power led on mboard

Some times components will be omited for what ever reason with autoinsertion machines and can get past inspection. I would return it or RMA it if it was purchased on line and get another.

Re: No speaker or power led on mboard

Thank you for your quick response.
I will leave the return up to my son. He has been using it for 5 days now and may not want to take it apart and put in a new board.
