soundcards built in

Expand Post »
I'm familar with motherboards but the one's i've been looking at lately all seem to have like 7 to 8ch sound cards built on. I'm wondering if any of the newer motherboards have sound cards built on that are worth anything in gaming (if so which ones) and i'm also wondering if i shouldn't bother with using the card and install a sb x-fi xtremegamer on it. I'm also looking for recommendations on a good motherboard...i'm a gamer and want the ability to make upgrades.

Re: soundcards built in

From my experience, motherboard onboard audio is sufficent for gaming, i use mine and have for a long time, but if you want that extra crisp clear sound, go for the sound card.
