Memory issues

I have a memory stick that says 256MB,SDR DIMM,H on it, however it will not work in my computer.Can someone tell me what this memory stick is compatible with? Thank You

i got a AMD 756 PCI bus dual IDE controller,
i run off win98, on a gateway with 128mb ram, nd i wanna add the 256..

check your motherboard manual for all the info on what pin number and type of memory will fit in your computer. you might find that the memory you have is just the wrong pin number, so its a matter of getting a new stick. or the stick could just be bad.

Nexxuz, you need to look at the numbers when you're providing information about your system, not the general advertising blurb. What exact model of Gateway computer do you have?
