can we customize BIOS

hi
my final year project requires the server to detect boot failures on the clients and find out the reason of the failure.
for that i will need my BIOS to detect the keyboard,hard drive etc and report the reason to the server over the n/w.
Any help will be appreciated.

Try emailing Titac. He has done many Hi-performance bios mods. I have done a few but using a hex editor to alter romsip tables I don't have time for anymore. Apparently he does though. He might be able to help you. His site . In your case you might just need to use awdhack (if were talking award bioses here) and modbin6 to unhide a feature or two.
