my screen is all a faded white colour

i have a compaq presario sr1916 and i got the drivers for the graphics off the website because i recently reinstalled xp so no drivers were found after installing the driver my lcd screen has gone all white and faded i cant cant see nothing im currently on my dads pc now can anyone help me please

Is your computer a laptop or a desktop? Did you try adjusting the brightness/contrast on the monitor? Was it working before you installed the drivers? Did you install the correct drivers?
