Can't get sound on the computer!

I need help getting the sound to work on my computer (Windows XP Pro OS). I have a MSI motherboar and I need help to get sound!

do you have a sound card or just integrated sound.

i think a sound card. is that the thing where u plug in the green, blue, and pink ports becasue if it is then i do

then you could just have a driver problem. So I would look up what sound card you have and then goto the company's website and download the latest drivers.

I have a similar problem, but I have no idea how to find out what sound card is loaded in my computer. How do I find this out
