USB 2.0 PCMCIA card locks up my PC

Expand Post »
Hi, I have bought an USB 2.0 PCMCIA card for my IBM R40 Laptop. When I plug the card in Windows XP Pro SP2 recognizes it and begins the installation. However, my computer freezes almost immediately. The only way to get my computer to restart is to remove the card, then it will restart automatically. I have checked and my BIOS is the most current available. Does anyone have any idea what to do in this situation? Thanks.

Re: USB 2.0 PCMCIA card locks up my PC

I'm having the same problem with a Sony VAIO PCG-V505EX. Insert a PC card and it locks up the computer every other time (it alternates between locking it up and not recognizing the card at all).
Anyone figure this out yet?
