Hard disk input out error

Expand Post »
I have a 120Gb seagate harddisk that is bringing me problems. It started having system checking issues and it was not completing to scan it using chkdisk. When i reboot the system, it says that it cannot find the system disk and on further checking i find out that the motherboard or lets say the IDE cannot access, read or write to the hard disk even though it can see the hard disk in the BIOS.

what could be the problem and how can it be solved?

Re: Hard disk input out error

go to http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/sup...oads/seatools/ and get seatools utility and burn it to disk and boot computer to it and do a long test .
