Okay, I am new to the list but I have had a problem with my IDE-CD R/RW drive ever since I installed Microsoft's service 2 update to XP. It could be a coincidence, but I could use my CD drive until then. According to my son (14) he has been able to listen to music CD's but I cannot get any other types of CD's to run. Tonight I tried to copy files to a CD and a message kept coming up that I had to put a blank CD in the drive even thought there already was one. I've done all the troubleshooting suggestions but nothing has worked. My machine is an hp pavilion 7935 (about 4 years old).
Anyone have any ideas?
