copy hd data

can anyone please help,hd appears to be on the way out but i dont want to lose the data and start reloading all the software/updates.can i copy the data to another hd and replace the old one with it. :?: ;)

yes. Plug the other HD in, and format it, copy files over, then junk the old HD. How old is it any way?
