Is this possible...

Expand Post »
I currently have an EIDE hard drive installed with XP on it. I just bought an an xtra hd for more storage and was told I could get a serial Ata. I didnt realize there were differences and now I noticed when going to install it the xtra connector off the ide ribbon wont work with the new hd. Is there a connector or something to make it work or do i have to exchange the hd?

thanks!

Re: Is this possible...

I'm pretty sure you have to trade it in for an IDE hard drive.

Re: Is this possible...

There are adaptors available, but if you can exchange the drive for an ordinary PATA with no penalty then just do that.
