SATA hd runs too slow

I have an asus mobo with athalon 1.4ghz thunderbird. i'm running a maxtor 200gb sata hd with sata card and another maxtor 80gb ide hard drive. both drives work fine, but the sata runs extremely slow. booting up on the sata takes about 15 minutes. what's going on?

Sounds like the drive is dead. Try it out in another PC if you can, if not, reinstall the drivers for the SATA controler. Failing that, the disks inside the drive make excelent throwing stars when cut up and sharpened!
