Unable to burn DVDs

Though it burns CDs, When I try burning DVDs on my SONY DVD writer it gives a message- Burning failed- "Power callibration error"

hello skkedia,
i also have the same problem sometimes. could be something to do with the burning software or the hardware. do you use nero 7? cause i experience this problem on my hp machine which i have installed nero.

just came across something. check it out. http://www.electricattic.net/en/mediumspeederror.htm . My guess is, the problem results due to poor DVD quality, try changing the brand.

I have also had this problem. With me I can't burn bootable cd's with 'phillps' brand yet can burn movies.

Have you tried lowering the burn speed?

Yeah i get that on my LG drive, it wont burn to verbatim DVDs

The firmware on your burner may be updatable, search for your burners make and model on the net.
