BioStar motherboard and 500GB SATA Hard drive

Expand Post »
http://www.biostar-usa.com/mbdetails.asp?model=k8vga-m

The details to the motherboard are listed in the link above.

ok the issue is that the 500GB SATA hard drive is not listed in the bios.

I have verified that the drive is in fact a good drive by installing it into a different computer.

now according to the motherboard details under SATA: it list

VIA VT8237 SATA RAID (RAID 0, 1)
Up to 2 SATA devices

does this mean that this board only uses SATA for RAID

my intention is to have this drive as the primary drive with windows installed on it.

thanks for the help.

Re: BioStar motherboard and 500GB SATA Hard drive

ok I investigated a little more and found that the hard drive is a Hitachi 7K500 which is a SATA 2 standard and the motherboard supports SATA 1 standards. So that should be the problem right there, correct? The hard drive is not the correct drive for this board, am I correct?
