Hard drive parition problems

Expand Post »
Hello, everybody I am having problems with my computer trying to recognize a 80GB SATA HD. What lead up to the problem was I bought a DELL GX280, by I wanted to put my business's corporate license on it. And Microsoft says I can only do unless I reformat the Hard drive, and start fro scratch. So when I do all of that, I reboot, and it is not seeing the partitions on the hard drive, how do I fix this.

Re: Hard drive parition problems

Is it not detecting the drive itself?

You need to provide Windows setup with SATA controller drivers on a floppy disk (hit F6 when prompted during setup so you can install these drivers). Dell's support website will have the drivers you need (unless you were supplied with either a program on a CD to make a SATA driver disk or an actual floppy disk with drivers).
