Problem installing XP on a SATA Striping Array

Expand Post »
My brother is attempting to install XP on his new hard drive setup. He is unable to get the XP setup to detect the hard drive array. Both the BIOS and Partition Magic 7.0 (rescue disks) are able to read the hard drive array without problems.

The hard drives are 80 Maxtor SATA hard drives. Does anyone know what could be happening?

Re: Problem installing XP on a SATA Striping Array

You need the SATA controller drivers (on a floppy disk) in order for Windows to see the drives. At the start of the setup process, you are prompted to hit F6 for this reason - ensure that you do.
