Flash drive problems

Hello. I have a 512 MB Kingston flash drive. For some reason the files started to corrupt, and before you knew it access was denied. Windows said the drive needed to be formatted and when I tried using XP to format, it said the drive was write protected. I know the old floppy disks had a switch to flip to take write protection off, but I don't see anything on the flash drive like that. Does anyone have an idea as to how I can format this drive to use it again??? Thanks in advance for any help!!! Have a great day. :D

Look on the drive. There'll be a toggle switch of some sort. Flip it and it should work.

Some drives are write protected via software. In this case, you need to use the utilities that may have come with your drive. Refer to the instruction manual for detailed info
