Is a floppy drive an IDE device?

Hey all

Ive had an argument with my batch mates. They say that a floppy drive is an IDE drive. I say it is not. Can any of you guys confirm which of us is right? Thanks

Floppy drives can be any number of cable/interface types.
If you are specifically discussing the grey ribbon cabled internal floppy drive (often with the cross-over twist to distinguish between the a drive and the b drive, they are not AT standards (which includes IDE), but IDC34 ribbons.
