IDE to SATA - What is easiest way?

What is the easiet way to switch from IDE to SATA?

My current configuration is as followed:

OS: WINXP SP2
MB: MSI -cant remember the model number, about 3 years old.
IDE 1 - 40 gig WD
IDE 2 - 20 gig WD

I would like to swap out the two WD for 2 Seagate 80 gig SATA. Last time i tried to switch over from IDE to SATA I ran into some serious problems. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

i think that the easiest way is just to clone your old hds to new ones. You can use for example Migrate Easy prog, all you need is to hook all the drives to the system and run this prog, then follow the wizard, and the old drive would be migrated to the new one. also it has 15 day full working trial version.

Only make sure your motherboard has the SATA ports. Also, could you elaborate on what serious trouble you ran into when you tried to switch before?
