Looking for a good external hd?

I want a good external hd for my brother in law. I know I could make one for him but I want one that has good software with it and is user friendly for someone without any computer knowledge for backups. I want a good brand and one with good warranty and easy to use. Thanks.

as i understand you need a backup drive for you brother. Among drives the best choice would be to buy Seagate or WD, don't but maxtor, i've heard lots of bad responses on it. and what do you mean

do you mean a backup software? if yes, then i don't advice to use software that is came with the HD, it's better to use windows backup utility or some 3d party backup software like true image, BTW it has vey friendly user interface, and it's very easy to work with it.
