disk error occur while formatting a partition

i formatted a old partition and everything goes well until when it change from the blue windows setup screen.I mean when the windows setup reboot. i received a message (disk error. press ctrl,alt,del to restart) and the windows installation do not continue. What should i do???? in order to reinstall the windows XP.

Were you using a sp slipstreamed cd?
