Dead Dell D610

Have a dead Dell D610 laptop that will not turn on. AC adapter is good but main battery is dead. Should it run on just the AC adapter? Thanks

yeah you should be able to unless theres something else wrong with it.but if you that it wont turn on? does that mean with or with out the ac adapter?
