Have got a Sony Vaio PGC-285M laptop that will not power up or respond at all. I have performed ATX reset by disconnecting all power and battery and holding the power button for 10 secs. After this a small battery power lights just above the power button does light and flash but when you press the power button the light goes out and absolutely nothing happens.

The PSU seems to be ok giving required output voltage.

Has anyone managed to revive a Vaio like this? Some say its the memory, some say its the ribbon cable between the button and the motherboard but has anyone fixed one?

Hi Ipete,

Try ATX reset one more time. Just remove your hard drive too. There may have been a power peak and some times this helps, not always.
