I am considering buying a Dell inspiron E1505 off of craigslist that is missing a battery, hard drive and possibly ram. I was wondering if there is anything I can do while before I buy it to see if there are more serious problems with it? I have an identical laptop so if I bring the power cord and plug the computer in with out a battery, hard drive or ram should anything happen?
Any advice on what to look out for would be greatly appreciated.

With ram you would at least get to the bios and could see if the computer posts.

if you put in ram, and then go to bios and set the boot to a cd you could then put in a 'start up boot 'cd such as linux etc and restart and then you could have access to most of the computer.
