Tecra 8100 no lights, no power, no nothing

Son has a Toshiba Tecra 8100, was working fine. Next boot lights came on blinking, would not power up, I can remember there was green and orange lights, a few days later..no lights at all..nothing totally dead. Thought it might be the power supply, bought a new power supply for that model, still nothing. What else can I try? I have tried using just the power supply, no battery, nothing. Any ideas?

Check the power jack on the motherboard. If it is loose, the power adapter may not be charging the battery or supplying power to the laptop.
