My Dell studio xps 16 notebook turns off without any warning randomly.Sometimes it can be kept on for 2 days straight while sometimes it fails to do so for even 30 minutes.I installed a software for checking the temperature, and found out that it was always below 65F and was rarely ever hot when it would suddenly shut down.It is also not a power issue as the laptop shuts down even when running on battery.

The system configuration is :-

Intel Core i7 740QM @1.73 GHz (Turbo Boost 2.93 Ghz)
6 GB Ram
Ati Mobility Radeon 5730 1 GB
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit
Resolution: 1920x1080

I would normally send it to the service station, but the problem is that i need to leave for university next week and won't have the time for repairing it.

I would really love any help regarding this horrible mess i am stuck in.
Thanks.

event viewer! yes. that will be your friend in this case. additionally, that temperature monitoring software... 65f? did you mean 65 celsius? 65 f isnt really reasonable for any computer, especially a laptop as high-powered as yours.
